Catherine L. Back CPA

Catherine Back graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting in May 1991. She joined the Cincinnati, Ohio office of the international accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick in December 1991. While at KPMG she worked extensively in the areas of individual and business tax planning and compliance. She transferred into KPMG’s National State and Local Tax practice in 1994. Returning to Florida in 1996 she joined Harris Corporation’s corporate headquarters as the Supervisor of State and Local Taxes. In this position she was responsible for supervising not only the state and local tax compliance, but also worked extensively managing the state and local tax audits.

She also further refined her state and local tax planning expertise in the areas of sales and use tax exemptions. In 1999 she joined the Melbourne firm Berman Hopkins Wright and LaHam as a Senior Tax Manager. In 2005 she moved back to her hometown of Fort Pierce and joined Paul Young in forming Young and Back CPAs, a full service Certified Public Accounting Firm dedicated to serving the Treasure Coast Area. Catherine has a wide area of tax knowledge including individual and corporate tax compliance and planning as well as extensive experience in dealing with the various state and local tax exemptions and incentives.

Paul R. Young (1953 – 2006)

Paul R Young received his Bachelors degree in Business in 1985 and a Masters degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University in 1986. He began his accounting career with the firm of Fogal, Johnson and Long and was later a partner with Daniel Deliulio, CPA. In 2000 he established his own firm, Paul Young CPA.

In 2005 he and Catherine Back CPA formed the partnership Young & Back CPAs. On September 22, 2006 Paul died tragically in a surfing accident in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He will be long remembered and his easy going manner and smile will be truly missed.
